Friday's Fancies {Date Night!}

I'm a little late with the Friday's Fancies this week! It has been pretty hectic around these parts! Sorry for the delay!

I am really excited for this week's theme, so I did not want to miss out! I'm a big fan of date night! Since Bill and I have been together now for over 2 years, it seems like our typical date night consists of PJs, popcorn and a movie at his house...throw in some wine and it gets all fancy!

Gone are the days of scheming the perfect outfit for weeks for a first date...remember those days? I loved first dates! It was the anticipation of a connection...will he kiss me? will I let him? What if he doesn't call? Oh, those were the days...

I remember having my perfect "first date" outfits...These were the outfits that made me feel the most comfortable, sexy/but not too sexy and sophisticated.

Here are a couple outfits that I would probably pick out if I were to go on a first date...
First Date!



For a night time cocktails date, you can never go wrong with the LBD {little black dress}...Add a pop of color with your accessories and a clutch. Throw on some sexy heels and you'll knock his socks off!

Of course, if you prefer a day time coffee 1st date {a little more of a casual feel}...Comfortable jeggings or skinnies matched with a comfy/cozy sweater in a romantic color {like pink!} will make you seem laid back, but still sophisticated and polished. Add some pretty accessories, flat sandals and a great leather bag and you're good to go!

You will be dressed to impress and you won't even worry if he's going to call the next day...He's an idiot if he doesn't! :)

My friend is hosting a "Quote Club" meeting tonight...which is a spin off idea of a book club, but instead each guest brings a quote that is meaningful and everyone shares and discusses.

She is having champagne and dessert! I love this combination! What's better than a little bubbly and sweets?!

Kitchen Crush...

My pinterest board Dream Kithens is getting a little out of hand...every kitchen I come across with white marble, light cabinets and industrial lighting I have to pin it!

Currently, I am loving the look of an all white kitchen with white marble counters...




You can go modern and clean...



Or more of a traditional look...



Whether you have a large kitchen...



Or a small kitchen, the white/light colors brightens the room and opens the space...

Monday Mantra...

Do you do any morning affirmations? It is something I learned to do a few years ago in a sales training class...

every morning while I'm getting ready or doing my make up, I tell my self in the mirror how awesome I am.

"I am smart..."
"I am capable..."
"I am talented..."
"I am successful..."

It sounds silly, but it actually makes me feel better in the morning before tackling the day.

If you have a specific goal in mind, you can refer to that as well...

"I am ___ lbs..."
"I make _____ a year..."
"I own my own successful event planning company..."
"I am fit and healthy..."
"I can run 5 miles a day..."

etc...

Friday's Fancies {Picnic in the Park}

Happy Friday!!! I can't believe it's Friday already! This week has flown by!

I'm really diggin' this week's FF theme of PICNIC! I would love to go on a picnic in the park for an afternoon! Catch some rays, play some cards, have a glass of wine and maybe some yummy cheese and snacks...what could be better?!

In My Dreams {Spring Time Patio Dinner Party}

I'm starting a new series called "In My Dreams"...This is my chance to show you {the readers} what I would do if I had mucho dinero and all the resources in the world at my finger tips...

At this specific moment, I would like to host a fabulous Spring Time Patio Dinner Party on my fabulous {fake} patio...It would look a little something like this...

...a nice open patio with greens and natural wood surroundings...over sized table to fit 8 - 10 comfortably...

...cozy cushioned benches...glowing lanterns and strands of globe lighting...

Billy Buttons {had to look up the name of those cute little yellow buds} in white vases and green potted succulents as the center piece...

...easy DIY menu on brown paper bag clipped to a crisp striped napkin...

...of course, a fabulous cheese board {my favorite} complete with a variety of hard and soft cheeses, nuts, dried fruits, water crackers and organic honey...

...fresh and crispy Parmesan asparagus sticks...

And for the main course...

A variety or grilled flat breads such as fig, goat cheese, prosciutto and arugula...

As well as a nice spring veggie flat bread...

{Signature Cocktail}
What's a party without a cocktail?

{via}

This spring blueberry cocktail is the perfect mix of sweet and savory!

For 2 pitchers:
1 pint blueberries
1 pint blackberries
1 1/2 cups rosemary infused simple syrup
4 cups lemon juice
16 oz club soda
12 oz gin

To make the simple syrup, combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water and add two sprigs of rosemary. Bring to a boil, and take off the heat and allow it to steep for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, juice your lemons, and add the juice as well as the syrup over the berries. With a wooden spoon smash a few berries. Allow it to sit for at least an hour in the fridge to macerate. Add 8 ounces of the gin, 8 ounces of club soda, and a cup or two of ice. Taste and adjust.

Garnish with a sprig or two of rosemary. Enjoy! {Recipe via Refinery 29}

Of course, in attendance would be 8 of my closest BFFs and the night would be full of laughing and wine guzzling...no matter how fancy the party is, I can always count on my friends to make it more entertaining!
