Place settings and center pieces are what make a great tablescape. Depending on your specific event, your place setting may be formal and intricate, or informal with a more casual feel. It is up to you to decide what type of personality you want associated with your event...

If you are leaning towards formal, make sure to include an extra small bread plate with a butter knife, as well as a dessert spoon and fork...
{via}
Glasses should always go to the right of the plates and the bread plate towards the left {remember this rule and you will never wonder which drinking glass is yours!}...
Also, make sure to have a place card with the guest's name directly in front of the dinner plate...
{via}
In a formal setting, napkins should go to the side or underneath the plates...
With an informal setting, there is a little more leeway with how things are set up...

Napkins, menus and place cards may be placed directly on the salad or dinner plate...

Or you can just draw the outline of the place settings so guests know where everything goes! Don't forget to have fun and be creative with your place setting!
Happy Tuesday!
